February 3, 2008: Fourth Sunday in
Ordinary Time
Give light and people will find the way!
In addition to all the normative activities happening daily at our fabulous
school, this past week there was an extra buzz of excitement because of the
special activities for our parish and school families and future families in
celebration of Catholic Schools Week. The theme for the week was, “Give light
and people will find the way.” Everyone experienced the joy and delight
of this celebration but the faces of our students expressed pride and pleasure
mixed with fun and satisfaction. This was not only a week of celebration. It
was also a week of recognition. The administration and faculty of our school bring personal dedication and
devotion to provide a quality education. Their years of tried and true teaching
methods greatly assist in the development of our children especially in the
areas of character, spiritual and academic formation. More than their
expertise, they bring personal gifts of humor, joy and enthusiasm for life, for
education and for the Holy Catholic Church. More importantly, they share them
abundantly. Truly, the Holy Spirit has united a team of God-centered
individuals who work for the betterment of the common good and the well being of
all children, all for the glory of God. This makes Our Lady of Lourdes school
an ideal place to nurture, educate and build up our children.
As a community of God-centered people, we each have a role to play in the
education of our children and we each must make sacrifices. We offer our
sacrifices as an honor and privilege to help the generations to come. The
generosity of our parish family provides for the necessary financial support
that makes education count for the good of our community and the greater glory
of God. In his light we see light itself. With your continued prayers and
support Our Lady of Lourdes School will shine His light for others and provide
quality education for years to come. With faith, hope and love,
Father Steven C. Rogers
